We belong to the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA), and our racers compete in events during the Spring Semester. Our Conference is the USCSA Southeast Conference, which is part of the USCSA Mid-Atlantic Region, and we compete in various events throughout each season.

Skiing:

Alpine: Slalom, Giant Slalom (GS), Dual Slalom
Freestyle: Slopestyle, Rail Jam, Skiercross, Big Air

Snowboarding:

Alpine: Slalom, Giant Slalom (GS)
Freestyle: Slopestyle, Rail Jam, Boardercross, Big Air

Racers do not have to compete in all of the events in their discipline, but they can participate in as many events and as many disciplines as they desire.

Racing is by no means required! About 75 members of VASST participate each year. If you are interested in racing, however, it is highly encouraged and a great way to get more involved with the team. Experience is absolutely not an issue; only a few members of Exec raced before college! If you'd like to race, ask the Captain of your respective discipline for more information or ask any questions you may have.
